What's up guys, it's Papi Lee (Formerly JOONY).
K-pop is a very versatile, sophisticated musical genre that fuses multiple styles of music to create an exciting, bouncy and groovy song. Funk/disco/80s feel is one of the most used styles that a lot of K-pop songs uses as a basis foundation of the song. Especially boygroups like BTS, EXO, Super Junior, Monsta X, CNBlue, Winner, Shinee all have songs that were influenced by funk style. This is not just for K-pop but also a trend all over the world with hits from Dua Lipa, Weeknd, Doja Cat, Bruno mars and so fourth. I also recently placed a song to a well known male Korean idol group with a funk beat (soon to be revealed)
In this tutorial, I am going to make a beat from scratch and show you step by step how to make a k-pop style funk song/instrumental/beat.
