A red Velvet cake is a chocolate cake with a dark red, bright red or red brown color. It is traditionally prepared as a layered cake with cream cheese frosting. My recipe calls for a fluffy, moist and delicious Red Velvet cake. This cake is made with flour, cocoa powder, butter, oil, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, and red food coloring. The secret to making this cake is adding a mixture of baking soda and vinegar into the cake batter. Once the cake is baked, we fill the insides and top it with a delicious, cream and non- runny cream cheese frosting!
