(Soda ash is used to soak the shirts you are going to tie dye. most people put their shirts to dry after you soak them. I like to use them right after I soak them. I just take as much of the water out of the garment. Soda Ash will help the garment keep the color and not spread when you rinse off dry after you tie dye. another important thing is that whatever soda ash is left in the the bucket, you can save it by putting it in a bottle with lid and reuse it. Dilute 1cup of soda ash to 1 gallon of water)
