I've had some requests to make a thumb ring tutorial, so here's a pretty quick and simple method I came up with to make a great practice thumb ring. It completely protects the pad of the thumb while still offering a smooth release.
It's not the best or only way to make a thumb ring, but it's a simple way to build a thumbring that fits your thumb perfectly. Your thumb will tend to change in size, getting thicker as you practice the thumb draw and it will get larger or smaller depending on temperatures, humidity and your diet. With PVC, you can either resize your ring with heat or make a few in different sizes. Another option would be to make the ring a little oversized and use a pad of leather to fill the gaps.
Like I said, it's pretty quick. Once you get the hang of it, you can probably do about 6-10 per hour if you ever wanted to.
