FUNFETTI CAKE RECIPE: WHAT I USE IN THIS RECIPE! (half this recipe for 1 smaller cake)
6 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
6 sticks unsalted butter, softened to room temperature (48 Tbsp of butter)
3 cups granulated sugar ( I made and error in the video and said 6 cups but it is 3!)
10 large eggs
2 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
3 cups buttermilk
1 cup sprinkles
SINGLE CAKE!
3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 sticks of unsalted butter (24 tbsp)
1.5 cups granulated sugar
5 large eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla extra
1.5 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup sprinkes!
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F/180 °C. Butter 6-inch cake pans that are at least 2-inch high.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, 3-4 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract.
Add the flour mixture in three additions alternating with the buttermilk in two additions.
Mix on LOW Do not overmix. Then Fold in sprinkles.
Bake 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool for 15 minutes, then gently remove from pan and allow them to cool completely before cutting
