In this video I demonstrate how to make a half-moon dried flower wreath on a metal hoop. To keep the flowers in place I need to first prepare the hoop. I apply floral tape to the section of the hoop where I will attach the flowers. This is necessary to keep the flowers from sliding around.
For the design, I make a series of small bouquets of mixed dried flowers similar to boutonnieres. To cover half of this 12 inch hoop I made 12 small bouquets (they will overlap each other). You could make these in a pattern of different colors, they could be uniform or they could be more naturally designed.
I use bind wire to affix each bouquet to the hoop. I cover the stems of the first bouquet with the blooms of the next as I go around. At the end, I cover the stems of the last bouquet with ribbon. So cute!
