Learn how to make a wrap skirt without a pattern in this step by step sewing tutorial that’s a great summer sewing project! It’s cut similar to a skater skirt so it’s a flattering silhouette for all body types and it features a bow you tie at your waist to tie the skirt. You’ll learn skills you can use on many future projects, like how to sew bias tape and how to make a buttonhole. Happy sewing!

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Fabric: 2-3 yards of a light to medium weight non-stretch fabric; if you want this skirt to stay flared out like mine, use a medium weight fabric that keeps its shape nicely (like cotton). If you want it to be more flowy and less structured, you could use a lighter weight fabric.
2-3 packs of ½ inch wide double fold bias tape that matches your fabric – the packs are 3 yards each. This is what I used: https://amzn.to/2SdQyLX *
Sewing Machine. I use the Singer Talent 3321: https://amzn.to/2HcBk3b *
Regular presserfoot and buttonhole foot that goes with your machine
Thread. This is my favorite type: https://amzn.to/2TEiTbr *
Needles
Scissors. This is a good affordable set I've used for years: https://amzn.to/2NMnZBl *
Pinking Shears. These are the best I've used... I've tried cheaper versions and they didn't work good at all so this is a product I prefer a name brand on: https://amzn.to/2Uc81G7 *
Pins
Tape Measure
Seam Ripper
Chalk or other erasable marking tool

Thank y’all so much for watching! I had a blast making this fun style wrap skirt and I absolutely love the way it turned out for summer with the white and blue color scheme. I paired it with a white off the shoulder top I got from JC Penney for this look and was so excited to have it done to be able to film in Southport, North Carolina when I was out of town at the coast… I hope you enjoy the scenery! Happy sewing!!!
XO, Monika
