Well we’re gonna solve that problem with these pre-portioned vacuum sealer bags. These are perfect for measuring ingredients ahead of time or to portion out snacks. Depending on what you are wanting to seal, you can use any size vacuum bags, or even vacuum sealer rolls to make custom sized vacuum bags. However, we are using our quart bags, because it worked well with some popular portion sizes. Here’s how our quart bag is gonna break down. You’ll be able to get 1 pouch that holds 2 Cups, 1 pouch that holds a ½ cup, and 3 smaller pouches that hold 1 Tablespoon each. Here’s an outline of what we’re going to be doing to our quart bag. The dotted line marks where we’re going to cut and the solid line where we’ll place our seals. This should give you a better idea of how we’re going to do this. We’re going to get started by taking one of our quart sized vacuum bags, and we’re going to seal the open end then after that we’re going to cut horizontally across the bag, cutting it right in half. This is going to give us our first pouch. This pouch will hold 2 cups of whatever dry good you want to use. We threw in some goldfish and sealed up the opening. There you go you now have your first vacuum pack. If your vacuum sealing any delicate items, make sure that you use the pulse vacuum feature. This allows you to manually control the amount of vacuum, and will help prevent your items from being crushed. Once you’ve reached a level of vacuum that you’re happy with, press the “seal” button to manually seal the bag. Next we’re going to take the other half of the bag and place a seal in the center of that, then once you have the seal we’re going to cut along the right hand side of it and this will give us another pouch. This pouch will hold half a cup of dry goods. We used some chex mix to fill up this pack. We used the pulse vac mode on the A100 to make sure we didn’t crush the chex mix as we vacuum sealed it. Last but not least we have the tablespoon pouches these are great for little protein powder packets or to store say a tablespoon of flour in. Now because we’re putting powder in these we won’t vacuum them because the vacuum would suck the powder into the machine and then break everything. But we are going to seal the pouches, so we’re going to take our bag and seal the short edge of the bag then we’re going to make 2 more seals on the bag dividing it into 3 sections but leaving the top open. Once you have the bag sealed on that side, we’re going to add our flour. I recommend using a funnel to do this so it’ll make your life so much easier. Then we’re going to seal it up by running a seal only cycle on the A100 and because of the size of these you can actually seal all three at the same time to speed up things. And that is it, now we have the perfect little portion sized packets. ILet us know if you try this out at home by leaving a comment down below.
