How To Make Dehydrated Mandarins / Preserve with Dehydrator Preserving the abundance of Mandarin Oranges, that are on the tree, at the end of winter and early spring makes perfect sense to me. We have spent the winter enjoying the Mandarins fresh, keeping our bodies fuelled with daily vitamin C and it's time to preserve the rest, for variety and convenience, for the rest of the year. Heating Citrus, destroys the vitamin C, however there is still fibre, Vitamin A and other nutrients contained in the fruit, making it a good snack or addition to breakfast, desserts and baking. Temperature for dehydrating Mandarins is 135F or 57C The variables in dehydrating Times are: - All machines are different - The size and juiciness of what you are dehydrating - The Temperature and Humidity of the room you are dehydrating in So times are going to be different for you and you just have to be sure there is no moisture in your fruit before you store it in the air proof container.
