We love putting binding on a quilt, it's that final touch that means the project is complete and you can finally use it! The quilt binding can blend in, or act as a small frame around the entire piece. This week, we are sharing a variation on the binding that adds a little extra pop to the finished project. Flange binding is a binding that uses 2 different fabrics, a main fabric and an accent fabric. The accent fabric will only show a tiny bit, but is a fun surprise when your quilt is completed. To complete a flanged binding, there are a couple extra steps, but it's a simple process and doesn't vary much from attaching a regular binding. If you need more help learning how to machine bind your quilt, you can find our full tutorial here: https://www.onwilliamsstreet.com/machine-binding-a-quilt-for-beginners/ We are using 2 1/4" quilt binding. In the blog post, we'll include information on how to figure out cutting widths for different sized bindings as well.
