In this CD4017 project, I have shown how to make simple motion sensor light using 4017 ic and E18-D80NK IR proximity sensor for the washroom. I made this motion sensor circuit on a homemade PCB and used this circuit as the automatic washroom light switch.

When anyone enters the washroom the IR proximity sensor senses the motion and turns on the light, and when he or she exits from the washroom the IR sensor again senses the motion and turns off the light automatically.
The range of the E18-D80NK IR sensor is very good, so it can easily detect motion to control the toilet light automatically.
During the CD4017 tutorial video, I shared the complete circuit for the 4017 ic project, so after watching the video, you can easily make this simple motion sensor switch project using 4017 IC and use it as motion activated light or motion-activated alarm.

Please refer to the circuit diagram to connect the motion sensor with the AC appliance and switch. Please take proper safety precautions while working on 110V or 230V AC.
