This week we are painting the clouds on the HUGE 200 square foot backdrop.
We have always said the backdrop needs to come first, in many if not most cases people put it off to the end when the backdrop is difficult or even impossible to access. BUT with a bit of planning and sticking to a plan, the backdrop can go in before the benchwork when it's easy to work on.
So far we have been working in the switching yard, but the yard lead extends into the shops, so we need to get the benchwork in there before we can finish the yard. SO, the time has come to finish the huge backdrop.
Painting clouds is fun and easy, even in a huge area like this. The general rule is to work dark to lighter. Start with a blue sky and light grey clouds and then add lighter and lighter clouds.
