How to paint fabric, transfer a design, colour & stitch | Slow stitch flowers & bird #slowstitching
Sharing from start to finish a fun and easy project to take an old piece of plain white fabric and transform it into a beautiful slow stitch piece using acrylic paint, carbon paper, inktense (or your fabric paint of choice) and threads for slow stitching. Plus whatever other embellishments you would like to add.
This was inspired by the incredible Fleur Woods workshop I was lucky to attend a few weeks back and I’ve been so eager to play with acrylics on fabric. I was also inspired by the beautiful cover of Fleur Woods’ book The Untamed Thread.
I just love the flowers and birds in this design, and I had fun adding further stitched embellishment even after the video finished.
I really hope you will have fun with this slow stitching and textile art project. We often think we can’t do something like draw or paint but I hope the methods shared in this video will help you to give it a try. I think you’ll be thrilled with what you discover.
Let me know if you end up giving it a go.
Would be fantastic to apply to prompts for Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery or other slow stitching projects. #Roxysjournalofstitchery
