Hey folks,
as promised last week, this week we're taking a look at the sound of doom in the heyday of Black Sabbath, Candlemass, etc.
It's not really a tutorial as much as it is a look at how this specific style of playing came to be, and the mindset needed to reproduce it today.
I think the most important part here is that we need to focus on the techniques that were available at the time and ignore more modern or flashy ones for the sake of staying true to the original sound.
That being said, I find it almost boring to just copy something.
Put your own spin on it, maybe incorporate some of these ideas into your sludge/stoner riffs, just to mix things up a bit?
