Want to learn how to play high on trombone? Want to improve your high register playing? Watch and play-along with this video that uses the melody from Over the Rainbow from the Wizard of Oz. One of my favorite ways I work on my high register is by playing a melody and taking it up, one half step at a time. Over the Rainbow is one of my favorite songs ever, so it was an easy choice. I play this melody all the time! The octave leap at the beginning provides a nice challenge while working on extending your range.
In this video, I explain how to approach this exercise and some tips. The video includes a backing track and the sheet music down below!
