Prior to Descent and before the start of any instrument approach the PF must brief the PM of his/her intention on how they are going to fly the Approach.
Both Pilots must thoroughly review the expected Approach Procedure and review all pertinent information to ensure the approach is being flown safely and legally.
Join me in the Cruise en-route to Barcelona (LEBL/BCN) using Live Weather and Live Time as I breif you prior to TOD just as I would brief the PM if I was flying this sector in real life.
In this Briefing we will thoroughly review.
- Weather
- Expected STAR and ILS Approach
- Navigation Frequencies
- MSA
- Vertical and Lateral Profile including Speed Restrictions
- Missed Approach Procedure and Actions
- LDA and LDR including Performance Calculation using the Boeing OPT
- Taxi Routing to Parking Stand
Have a go using this format and flying this approach into Barcelona yourself!
Any questions feel free to ask and I'll try my best to get back to you!
