Todays tutorial is the first in a new series where we refurbish and customize a beautiful knitted, vintage sweater we found in a thrift store in Paris. It is Norwegian and knitted with heavy wool, the neck line is tight and the sleeves are too short. We start by taking apart the turtleneck and use the yarn for a smaller collar. In the next episode we will start the sleeves.
This is the perfect tutorial for you, who has one or more old vintage sweaters at home, just waiting for a little refurbishing. Or if you don't feel like knitting a whole sweater, but you want to customize a sweater, we are here with some tips and ideas on what you can do to create something new out of something old.
We love repurposing old vintage items and thrift store shopping. If you are into vintage knitwear, we have some episodes about our collection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6muDLh6w5s&list=PLElv_tSbHW3olcvkjJufWX95c5gBoC5oa
