In this video, I'll be showing you how to replace a rotten subfloor. This is an easy one as it is a rotted subfloor under an entry door into a shed. But the technique is the same whether you're replacing a rotten floor in a mobile home or a home on a raised foundation.
If the rotten floor has never been replaced before, then you'll have to cut the floor back to solid wood before you start to replace the rotten section of flooring. If at all possible, I prefer to use 3/4" or larger tongue and groove plywood for repairs.
In this instance, the homeowner had some 1/2" plywood she wanted me to use. It's not ideal, but I doubled it up and glued and screwed it together, plus I added some bracing in the subfloor across the floor joists.
