How to Replace a Rusty Leaf Spring Hanger | 1995 Ford F150

This vidoe shows you how to replace the leaf spring hanger on your truck. In this particular video, the truck is a 1995 Ford F-150 long bed 2wd obs. The old hanger was rusted through and needed to be replaced. This video is a step by step process on how I did that. First you need to jack up your truck and place it on jack stands. Place the jack stands under the frame so you don’t have to keep moving them. Remove your wheel and tire assemble. This takes weight off the axle. Then place your jack under the axle and jack up until you feel the leaf spring is relaxed. Now begin cutting, grinding, or torching the the rivets off the rusted leaf spring hanger. Before you do this you can remove the leaf spring bolt but I kept mine in. Once the hanger comes loose, remove the leaf spring bolt. Bolt on the new leaf spring hanger. Now is a good time to treat the metal behind it. Then using the jack align the leaf spring eye with the holes in the leaf sorting hanger.
