How to replace the radio and the rear camera in a 2014 Honda CR-V
Honda CR-V fourth generation: 2012-2016
This video walks through the removal of the OEM Honda radio/receiver head unit, the installation of a Boss Audio Elite BE7ACP.WXC head unit, and the installation of a Boss ELPC40B rear view license plate mount camera in our 2014 Honda CR-V EX. This Boss model comes with both the head unit and rear camera as a package.
The BE7ACP.WXC has a 7" (178mm) capacitive touchscreen, AM/FM receiver, Bluetooth®, MP3-compatible, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, 340 Watts, etc. The Boss ELPC40B is a weatherproof hi-res rear view license plate mount camera with a hidden mounting bracket and LED lights to illuminate the area behind the camera.
I purchased the Boss product from Crutchfield, however, this video is not sponsored in any way by Crutchfield or by Boss. I will note, though, that the Crutchfield ReadyHarness™ service is worth its weight in gold. Items purchased from Crutchfield for this installation are:
1. Boss Audio Elite BE7ACP.WXC Package - Item 104BE7WXC
2. Metra 40-HD11 Antenna Adapter - Item 12040HD11
3. Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter - Item 120ASWC1
4. Axxess AXHN-1 Wiring Interface - Item 120AXHN1
5. Scosche HA1714B Dash Kit - Item 142HA1714B
6. Crutchfield ReadyHarness™ Service - Item 264PASCON
Also, be sure to have a set of auto-trim removal tools and a few index cards on hand -- you will need them.

Important note: The Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter is supposed to be preprogrammed for the vehicle and should not be connected until everything else is connected and powered up (before you screw everything in and replace the trim). In my case it was NOT preprogrammed or I screwed it up. I had to reprogram it, and I show you how to do that in the video starting at 30:11. In the end, it is worth it to retain the steering wheel controls.
Important note: The ELPC40B rear view camera provides its own set of parking guidelines in addition to a set of parking guidelines provided by the BE7ACP.WXC head unit. The parking guidelines provided by the BE7ACP.WXC head unit are adjustable in settings; the parking guidelines provided by the ELPC40B rear view camera are not adjustable. I show you how to clip the looped white wire near the camera connection in order to remove the parking guidelines provided by the ELPC40B rear view camera. See starting at about 41:45. This will leave you with one set of clean and adjustable parking guidelines provided by the head unit.
Important note: At the time of this install, the BE7ACP.WXC head unit has about 2 seconds DELAY before displaying the rear view camera image from the ELPC40B camera. This is annoying but not a showstopper. I spent a ton of time troubleshooting this with Crutchfield and researching on my own. During this process, I reconnected the original OEM rear view camera to display on the original (small) OEM screen and realized that I could run both old and new rear view cameras simultaneously. The old camera display fires up instantly upon putting the vehicle into reverse, which gives you an initial low-res view in case you are in a bind. The new camera display fires up about 2 seconds later with a high-res view to better view behind the vehicle. I found that the combination of the two cameras is a cool and unexpected benefit of this particular setup. For that reason alone, preserving the OEM vehicle controls with the Axxess AXHN-1 Wiring Interface is worth it in my opinion.
Plan on this taking an entire day if it is your first time removing and installing a radio. Take your time and be patient. You can do this.
