I repurpose damaged vintage quilts into contemporary garments and multi-use accessories. Here are some of the steps I take refashioning an old quilt into a new jacket.
Every quilt starts with a bath; after time in the tub soaking, the quilt goes into the washer/dryer. Then it's onto my workspace at NextFab (in Philadelphia) where I have access to long work tables and other equipment.
This quilt was in fairly good shape, and yielded one jacket and several maker caddies, stuff sacks, zip pouches and sling bags
