Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Oxidized, clouded headlights are one of the most common visual issues seen on daily drivers. The sun beats down on the clearcoated polycarbonate until the UV protection can't protect any longer, causing it to oxidize and become opaque. Then you're left with a possible safety hazard as your headlights now emit a fraction of the candlepower they're capable of producing, struggling to illuminate the road ahead. There are a lot of different methods for removing this oxidation to restore a crystal clear appearance, but in this class I'm going to focus on the two fastest techniques: sanding the headlight by hand and by machine. While you can restore headlights with a random orbital polisher (or even toothpaste) these techniques are not very aggressive and will require time and patience. Sanding, on the other hand, is extremely aggressive and allows you to speed through the process more easily. Tune in Wednesday, January 29th at 4PM ET, 3PM CT and 1PM PT as I demonstrate the two methods for sanding headlight polycarbonate LIVE in my latest free online detailing class. I hope to see you there! — Mike Phillips Chief Education Officer, Dr. Beasley's (760) 515-0444 | [email protected] ▸ Want to take a class with Mike in-person?
