Video description / background:
Riding powder on a snowboard is much more like surfing than it is like snowboarding on groomers. It requires an active riding style with lots of movement. Having an adequate board with a long nose can also be beneficial, if you aren't able to ride fast. The applied technique is called 'down unweighted turning'. Leg extension through the turn followed by an abrupt absorption of the legs at the end of every turn is the key to a quick direction change.
