In this video Chris Barnard, owner of OverTimeAthletes (OTA) and trainer to many pro baseball players explains how to run a faster 60 yard dash. While I was at the Strength Camp Gym in St. Petersburg FL, Chris explained that he focuses on a few things for blazing baseball speed and running a sub 7 60 yard dash. First of all we must understand how important it is to run a faster 60 yard dash because it is the measuring tool that baseball scouts and coaches use to measure speed in baseball. So if you aspire to play college baseball or pro baseball, then you must focus on running a sub 7 60 yard dash which means under 7 seconds. If you can run your 60 yard dash in 6.9 seconds or below you are going to get a lot more eyes on you. Obviously the faster, the better, but let the sub 7 be your goal/standard to start with when training for the 60 yard dash. Chris then goes on to talk about the 60 yard dash starting stance and how important the first 10 yards of the 60 is. Two big things to take away from this video is "put it in your holster" and "dive into the pool". I really like these two ques Chris uses with his professional baseball players.
