✂️✂️✂️ NOTE: THERE IS A NEWER VIDEO VERSION OF THIS BOWL COZY TUTORIAL!! ✂️✂️✂️ WATCH IT HERE: https://youtu.be/zMnKG5xLn-w?si=ETmryLGC6zRDfl71 In the above video, I didn't realize I had cut off part of the video that shows how to maker the darts. So I decided to re-do the video to make it more clear. In this video tutorial I am going to show you how to sew a bowl cozy using 10-1/2" squares of 100% cotton fabric. These bowl cozies are truly a family favorite. They are great for hot foods, cold foods, and are microwave safe. Just be sure to use 100% cotton fabric, batting, and thread if you intend to use the bowl cozies in the microwave. To use the bowl cozies in the microwave, simply place your bowl of food to be reheated into the bowl cozy and place both in the microwave. Reheat for no more than 2 minutes at a time. ✂️ WRITTEN TUTORIAL: https://hookedonsewing.com/learn-to-sew-a-bowl-cozy/ CHAPTERS 00:00 Introduction 00:28 How to Use a Bowl Cozy 02:11 Supplies and Tools Needed 02:49 Mark Stitching Lines 04:18 Stitch Along Marked Lines 06:11 Mark Darts 09:06 Stitch Darts 14:02 Trim Dart Seams 14:57 Stitch Bowl Pieces Together 20:41 Clip Corners and Curves 21:42 Turn Right Side Out 24:04 Press 25:26 Topstitch 31:40 Summary 33:27 Pictures of Bowl Cozies ============================= ✂️ SUPPLIES NEEDED (2) 10-1/2" squares of cotton fabric (2) 10" squares of cotton batting cotton thread (also use cotton thread in bobbin) ✂️ TOOLS NEEDED small scissors - https://amzn.to/49E4rsl fabric scissors - https://amzn.to/40KoIs3 rotary cutter - https://amzn.to/47k18F4 acrylic ruler - https://amzn.to/3R37env small acrylic ruler - https://amzn.to/47A4Iuy 12-1/2" acrylic ruler - https://amzn.to/47kHU2c self-healing mat - https://amzn.to/3umgN8t Wonder clips - https://amzn.to/3MNEs8e fabric marker - https://amzn.to/40HCUCc bone folder - https://amzn.to/3SNxnby sewing machine - https://amzn.to/46jZXUP iron - https://amzn.to/46k06Yn ironing board - https://amzn.to/47fGupz wool ironing mat - https://amzn.to/3MMx2ls ✂️ Get my Amazon shopping list for this project at: https://amzn.to/3R7vxkc ✂️ NOTE: 3/8" seam allowances unless otherwise noted ✂️ TO MAKE ROUNDED CORNERS - Use a bowl, plate, lid or other rounded object to mark your corners. - Once your corners are marked, simply cut along the marked lines. - When you stitch the bowl cozy pieces together, just follow the curved line of the rounded corners. ========================= ✂️ FOLLOW ME AT: Blog: https://hookedonsewing.com Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/hookedonsewing/ Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/sewingfun/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hookedonsewing/ Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/hookedonsewingblog/ ✂️ Please subscribe to my YouTube channel at @hooked-on-sewing for more beginner friendly sewing video tutorials! ✂️ Credits: Music: It's That Time of Year by Pecan Pie (licensed, royalty and copyright free) Videography: Pamela Baker on Canon DSLR cameras and iPhone Audio and Video Editing: Pamela Baker Design: A Hooked on Sewing Original
