In this video I will attempt to make a corset for the lowest price possible, through thrifting and alternative solutions.
Making a corset can be quite expensive, since you need specific materials with specific qualities; such as coutil, a busk, boning, and so on. I usually find these materials to be worth it, but I still want to test and explore very cheap options to see how much I can save and if it is wort it. I have given myself several rules to follow, to make this replicable and valid.
The corset made in this video is based on the Freedom Corset pattern by Pin-Up Girls: https://www.braandcorsetsupplies.com/product/freedom-corset-pattern/
However, it has been altered a bit to give it a quilted hip panel, and I have designed a simple embroidery to give it more flair.
I will share my thought process when choosing materials, show how I give a cheap corset some flair, and test if a cheap corset can handle a greater waist reduction.
