In Affinity Designer, you can use the node tool to perform any kind of operation on nodes and shapes, including cutting, slicing, separating, opening and closing shapes. In this tutorial we look at a simple operation of slicing a square into two separate triangles, to illustrate how you can start with a shape and create more shapes from it, without using the combine operations. The Divide operation doesn't cut it so we need to get creative using the node tool.
