Let’s slow stitch a scrap fabric bird in a scrap thread nest. You can draw your own bird or use one of my templates at the link below.

To make it easy, I cut a standard sheet of felt in 4 pieces so no measuring required. They are just shy of 6” x 4.5” or 15cm x 11cm.
