We’re venturing in for a quick look at some stunning old designer accessories and fun fashion when we find someone who knows secrets we’d like to know…

Rows of cases festooned with silver chains and bead strands open to reveal rows of turquoise and sterling jewelry from the desert Southwest! Behind them stands our host and tutor, Brendan Golightly, who revels in telling us all about the incredibly well-crafted pieces made by Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni artists—what inspires the designs and how to tell the difference!

This is a fun and thorough trip through the basics of this fabulous category of jewelry, which is so popular now with collectors and style mavens. Both casual and stylish, these pieces reflect many different production methods, artists, eras, and styles, and we see examples with ancient Hohokam beads alongside Old Pawn, antique, artist-signed pieces, and more!
