How to Start the Engine Directly
One issue that might occur with your car is when you insert the key into the ignition, turn it, and nothing happens. The dashboard lights remain the same (if they dimmed, it could indicate a battery issue), and after several attempts, you give up. This issue might be related to the key itself (ignition switch) or the starter motor.
In modern cars, it could also be related to the immobilizer, but we’ll leave that topic for another time.
The car that experienced this issue was a 1997 Fiat Uno. The instructions shown in the video will help you in an emergency, where you may not have many tools or if you're in a hard-to-access location, to get the starter working and reach a repair shop.
The idea is to use a 13mm wrench and create a bridge between pin 50 (positive signal from the ignition key) and positive terminal +30 (direct from the battery). Along with a few light taps with a hammer on the solenoid and the rear of the starter motor, you can get the starter to function, allowing you to drive the car to a garage.
