How to tie the Black Cruncher (variation)

This although basically a Cruncher I have had in my box for a long time. It works particularly well towards the back end of July and has had its best days at Bewl Water. Not sure why this fly works so well it may well be the profile and the subdued colours. I would not be without these in my Loch Style boxes.

At the time of publishing I am on the second week of lockdown and fear that by the time we get back to fishing from boats it may well be the end of July!
