Difference between insulin pen and syringe
With an insulin pen, it is easy for the patient to infect himself and the pain is also very minimal since the needle is very thin.
There are two types of insulin pens, temporary and permanent. The temporary ones will have to be disposed of when they run out of insulin. The permanent ones can be refilled. The insulin pen comes with needles, cleaning material, and a disposing container.
Insulin pen usage method
1. Rotate the pen to mix the contents.
2. Open cap.
3. Wipe the top with an alcohol swab.
4. Insert needle.
5. Use the dial to measure the amount to be injected.
6. Wipe the spot on the body to be injected.
7. Inject. Count to ten and remove.
8. Press the spot for a few seconds.
9. Dispose of the needle carefully.
