Skids aren't just for kids! The skid is a mountain Bike skill that can be often used out on the trail to get round tight turns and manoeuvre the bike. But make sure you use your skid responsibly and don't ruin trails.

Although we wouldn't recommend skidding on new trails or everywhere you ride, in certain places a skid can be a great technique to quickly manoeuvre the bike.
The 'Scandi Flick' is a great way to quickly throw the bike round a corner and quickly shift your weight.
Off camber trails are a great place to use skids. If you find yourself trying to slide down the trail to get your tyres into a rut, then a quick pull of the back brake will get you firmly on to the main line.
