Over a decade ago, there were lots of villains that were either evil or not—none of the current likable nonsense. You knew who to boo at and who to cheer for. Simple as that.
So how can a character like the Fairy Godmother be both charming and so completely detestable? That’s the trick with charismatic villains—we can't help but love them even when they’re doing the most horrible things. They’re the kind of characters that make you question your own morals a bit, which, let's face it, is kind of fun. And We can love them, without hope that they’ll somehow see the light and change.
