👉 Learn how to write a proof when given angles from parallel lines and a transversalWe will explore angle relationships with parallel lines and a transversal. Parallel lines are two lines on a plane that will never intersect and a transversal is a line that intersects both of the parallel lines on the same plane. At each intersection four angles are created and the relationship between those angles at each intersection have special relationships. When we have parallel lines we know that corresponding angles, alternate interior angles, and alternate exterior angles are equal in measure. Where same side interior angles are supplementary. These angles can still be present when a transversal intersects two lines that are not parallel but then the angles will not be equal or supplementary to each other. Knowing the relationship between to the two angles will be important when solving problems involving missing angle measures and proving certain proofs. We can also use the relationships of these angles and their measures to determine if two lines are parallel or not.
