Did you ever wonder how scientists measure the rate of photosynthesis? This video will walk you though how photosynthesis is measured, at the leaf level, using an infra red gas analyzer. A very similar method is used on towers, to measure carbon dioxide over entire forests and landscapes. NEON. the National Ecological Observatory Network, has a network of these tower systems that will be providing free, ecological data for 30 years. (www.neonscience.org) (4:29 digital analyzers should read 400ppm and 300ppm) (CO2 molecules should be bonded in a straight line).
