In our previous videos I’ve mentioned how we wanted a second car. We didn’t want to spend too much on it and it was between a Zoe and a LEAF. Both great cars but we’ve settled for the LEAF — a car we used to have and loved.
Since we wanted to get one as cheap as possible, we turned to the wonderful Jonathan Porterfield of Eco Cars (as featured on Fully Charged and Jonny Smith’s Late Brake Show) to get us one at auction.
The whole process was so easy and painless! We found the car we wanted, gave him a budget, he bid on it, taxed/registered it and got the car got picked up and delivered to our door (clean and fully charged).
You can save a fortune getting cars at auction but it is worth using someone like Jonathan who knows what to look out for.
We now have a LEAF 24kWh Acenta with 3.3kW onboard charger and all 12-bars of battery. It’s got some scratches but it’s a fantastic second car. We get about 80 miles of range out of it for the journeys we do.
We absolutely love our new (old) LEAF. It’s like having an old friend back on the drive!
