‘Age of Indifference’ is the fourth single from HuDost’s upcoming album The Monkey in the Crown.
The pre-sale campaign is happening now at: https://hudost.com/2025-new-album-presale
This anthemic song challenges the numbness of indifference, or what some have recently manipulatively deemed the ‘sin of empathy’, calling for a bold rise into a world where feeling is celebrated and emotions are embraced. With powerful, soaring melodies, it inspires a reclaiming of vulnerability, encouraging listeners to care deeply, love fully, and never shy away from the strength that comes with being truly alive.
The video was filmed in Sutton, Quebec and was directed by Miranda Handford. Videography by Naomi SV with drone by Todd Munro. Besides Moksha and Jemal Wade, it stars Isabeau Clarke, Inès Vieux Francoeur, Dave Campbell, Vicki Tansey and a slew of friends from Sutton!
We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts!
The song features Moksha and a sweet gang of vocal souls singing along with Jemal Wade on guitars, Chris Powell on drums, Dan Walters on bass, Charlie Lowell on keys and Kai Welch on horns!

Lyrics:
Age of Indifference
In the rip and tide of the great divide
Where the unknown seems to lie for me
In what’s come and gone
In the recklessness of song
In the spaces that belong to me
When it all comes down to the monkey in the crown
To the monkey in the crown that is me
When it all comes down to the lost and the found
To the lost and the found that is me is me is me
With the whip and will of loneliness itself
When the loneliness itself is strong
In the words of time, the aching of the spine
I feel it in my body still
When it all comes down to the monkey in the crown
To the monkey in the crown that is me
When it all comes down to the lost and the found
To the lost and the found that is me is me is me
When the age of indifference is over
I will cry upon your shoulder
And when all the tears are gone I will write an honest song
Cause the age of indifference is done
The age of indifference is done
Don’t you want to be somebody?
Don’t you want to love someone?
Don’t you want to feel something?
Anything, Anything
Don’t you know when your love is bigger
Don’t you know when love is strong
Don’t you know, don’t you know
