When they formed in the year 2000, they had no idea of the path that lay ahead. Their music would find its way into popular video games, horror films and even one of the biggest TV Shows of all time, Game of Thrones. Which not only spawned this super cool limited edition White Walker Vinyl record, but also saw some of their members appear in the show itself.
Formed in Atlanta, Georgia, they have the unique property of three of their band members sharing Lead Vocal duties spread across 8 albums between 2002 and 2021. With what you could arguably call their breakthrough record, Leviathan in 2004, helping to launch the group's career.
They have been called “one of the most original and influential American metal bands to appear in the 21st century” and “one of the all-time great hard rock groups.” Combining a range of influences from Metallica and King Crimson to Thin Lizzy and KISS.
Their lyrics focus on life, death, time and the Grim Reaper himself. This is Hunters of the Sky, the story of Mastodon.
