A video about a short trip to the Czech Republic. I was looking for uranium minerals with my small scintillation counter on the tailings of the "Barbora" mine 4 kilometers northwest of Jáchymov. Of the many samples i found, i took home 16 minerals. Some are quite ugly, others look spectacular with secondary uranium minerals in different colors. I am glad that most pieces are below 25 mm in size (one inch), so they can be easily stored in glass vials with gaskets. This prevents Radon gas from accumulating in the air. The small scintillation counter (RadiaCode 101) was a respectable tool for prospecting. The sensitivity is far superior to common geiger muller tubes.
