I am not a mechanic but I do enjoy learning and helping myself to get things done. I bought this machine on the internet in January 2012 (a shade under ￥30000）it has been a great reliable workhorse. I’ve never had any trouble with it as it starts every time, but it is getting to the point where adding parts to it in order to keep it going won’t be worth it any more - it’s going to be cheaper to buy a new machine. Having said that I wanted to try to see if I could learn to do this little job. It’s the closest I’ve ever been to a carburettor in my life. I was a little bit worried about dirt getting in, that was my main concern. I was ecstatic when the machine started and it’s quite possible it will continue to give more life for a few more years.
Oh, and I am aware of the idling issue, another thing to learn to do.
I paid ￥4180 for the parts, which shocked me. I still do not understand how that could have been avoided.
