How to replace the intake manifold, or inlet pipe, assembly on a Husqvarna 592XP chainsaw. Process is nearly the same for the 592XPG.

Symptoms of a failed intake manifold can be: runs poorly, idles high, revs when coming out of the cut, or throttle seems "stuck" open.

1:17-1:50 Removing Carburetor Base

2:41-3:06 Removing Carb Base Screws-T20
3:07-3:29 Remove Rubber Retainers
3:30-3:46 Remove Throttle Cable
3:47-4:20 Remove Carb Base
4:21-4:28 Remove Carburetor
5:00-5:21 Remove return primer line/rubber retainer
5:22-6:42 Remove intake manifold
6:43-6:56 Check piston for scoring
6:57-7:43 Install intake manifold
7:44-8:05 Install screws and retainer
8:06-8:36 Install return primer line
8:37-9:11 Install carburetor and throttle cable
9:12-10:57 Install air filter base
10:58-11:28 Install aux air butterfly
11:29-11:49 Install air filter base screws
11:50-12:13 Function check throttle/choke/shutoff/primer
12:14-13:15 Connect wiring
13:16-13:34 Install air filter/top cover/bar/chain
13:35-13:50 Test run
