"The toughest bike test I've ever been on." That's how Adventure Bike Rider founder Alun described the international launch of the 2023 Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition.
The new bike is an updated version of Husqvarna's mid-size adventure motorcycle, sporting a host of new features including better quality suspension, a bigger screen, heated grips, and even a heated rider's seat.
But do these new additions warrant a £900 increase on the price of a standard Norden 901? To find out, Alun flew to South Africa.
Starting just outside of Cape Town, he put the Norden 901 Expedition through its paces on a combination of fast-paced coastal roads, remote highways, and on some seriously challenging off-road routes. In fact, he covered more than 300 miles of trails.
Navigating soft sand, rocky canyons, and steep inclines across the African bush highlighted just how capable the new Norden 901 Expedition really is. So capable in fact, that even a water crossing through a lake couldn't stop it.
WHAT IS THE NORDEN 901 EXPEDITION?
The original Norden 901 hit dealerships here in the UK in 2022, and less than a year later, the manufacturer has released a new model, called the Expedition. It shares the same engine, chassis, wheels, electronics, and more with the standard bike, but has been designed to offer greater comfort and performance over long distances, whether you're riding on or off road.
