3D Printed DML build parts: http://www.typicalben.net/s/shop
Yes, I finally got around to finishing these things.
This video covers the build process itself - painting, assembling, wiring, fitting etc etc. I also give my initial impressions after a few days of listening to the new speakers.
I'm happy to report that they sound great! I'm convinced that the hybrid approach is the way to go for freestanding panels (I'm saying that you can't get great results out of a 'pure panel' design, but handing of the LF to cone woofers is surely easier/ more convenient).
Not a lot of music in this one as the video was getting a bit long already, but the intro and outro music are recorded live 'in room' using my Blue Yeti nano mic.
My next video will be a proper music demo, using some classic audiophile tracks and a few out of my playlists.
I've still got to tidy up the crossovers and make some nicer cables for these - the tinkering never ends! But for now, I'm just going to enjoy them for a bit.
