Welcome everyone to my first drive of the new Hyundai Santa-Fe.
The Santa Fe, now in its fifth generation has always been the flagship car in Europe and the UK and will hold that title until the upcoming Ioniq 9 is released.
The 4th generation was a great car that was stylish, practical and comfortable. Perfect for large families.
With other brands bringing out all-new or facelift models of their own 7-seaters (Skoda with the new Kodiaq and Peugeot with the new 5008), Hyundai had always planned to bring out the new Santa Fe to compete.
Still on the fourth generations platform, you would not tell when looking at the new car. The bold, boxy proportions stand out instantly as a major difference over the 4th Gen. The boxy shape being able to accommodate more space in the inside. Step inside and we have a completely new interior over its predecessor, gone are the mass of buttons on the dash, in are new screens and a more sophisticated interior with a choice of colours. Even the exterior has a bold choice of colours. No selection of grey, black and white!
When it comes to trim levels there are 3 to choose from. There's Premium, Ultimate and Calligraphy. Ultimate would be my preference.
Now when it comes to powering the Santa Fe, The engine at the heart of the car is a 1.6L turbo-charged petrol engine. You have the choice of full or plug-in hybrid. 2 or all-wheel drive.
Hope you enjoy.
