I am not sure if this idea was very smart, but I just bought the last available train ticket for the dogu express. It was 82TL and the train takes 26 hours from Ankara to Kars. This ticket doesn’t include a bed.

The Eastern Express became extremely popular because people started sharing photos of the train on social media. After high demand TCDD put a new train into service on the same line solely for tourism. So there are two trains: A touristic eastern express and the normal one.
