There's something so magical and fun about paper dolls... dressing them up, making them clothes and accessories....ahh.
In today's video, we are going to be making our very own paper dolls.
I typically use images from fashion magazines (Elle, Vogue, Glamour, etc). If you don't have any magazines at home, print out some paper doll models. Find some free printables HERE: https://paperdollreview.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=37
First, we'll discuss what makes a good paper doll model. You really just need the top half of the doll (face and torso). Then we'll talk about different work arounds. Don't worry about fussy cutting out every single detail- that is such a joy kill! I will show you how to "hide" hands, feet, objects the models may be holding, hair that is in the way, etc.
We are re-creating the dolls. I'll even show you had to "add" whimsical arms, hands, and legs.
And finally the fun part! I will be showing you my favorite way to put together dresses and tops. We will be using watercolors, fabric scraps, sewing patterns, paper scraps, embellishments... everything you can think of. We'll make our dolls fabulous by adding finishing touches like hair pieces, crowns, scarves, purses, and more.
