As a fan of parkour, martial arts, and all things fitness, I love the Assassin's Creed games. And so I was really excited when Ubisoft asked me to make an official workout for the series to promote the new game. They’re featuring that workout over on their channels as a series of shorts.
In this video, I’m breaking down exactly how I approached the idea of an official Assassin’s Creed workout. How should we train if we want to move like athletic parkour ninjas? Why did I choose the movements I did? And how can my viewers adapt that training to suit their own needs and level?
The key, as with any functional program, is specificity. What movements do we need and how can we emulate them during training? Thus, I included movements like the prevision broad jump to develop horizontal jumping distance and precision; the tactical pull up to help with climbing; and the crawl to train stealthy movement.
