I learned how to ride seated the slow, hard way on my Electric Unicycle. I did this because there were lots of things that I wish I had known, and lots of things that I didn't find in other EUC seated riding tutorials. Call it "secret knowledge", if you will. It never was a secret in the end, but rather just tips that accelerated my learning speed significantly.
