Click here https://bit.ly/nativeabbycox3 and use my code ABBYCOX3 #AD Let's explore the very terrible idea of making an *extremely* fashionable Edwardian era ensemble using a lot of Victorian and Edwardian couture-level sewing, construction, and design techniques, shall we? Using my girl, Margaret Blair, for the patterning, let's make a silk satin skirt with point d'esprit and silk gauze over the satin skirt. While the satin skirt is mostly machine sewn, the overskirt is entirely handsewn, because there's not a sewing machine in the world that can handle that level of insanity. While I had a month to work on this skirt, the final deadline for this entire ensemble is the end of September, and since the skirt was taking up so much time, other videos I had in mind for this week had to go out the window, and I had to fully commit to getting this skirt done ASAP (fyi: I finished it on Monday night at 8pm and this video was submitted for review Wednesday...so a very fast turn around time). I do still have a couple of small things I need to do - mostly just add the final hooks and eyes for closure, but I'm waiting to do that with the bodice. I do hope you enjoy this video...it's a bit chaotic because...well..sewing is chaotic and we must be honest with ourselves about that.
